The 8th International Seminar on Fire and Explosion Hazards was held 25-28th April in Hefei, China. One of the highlighted presentations in the conference was Frida’s study Using a Porous Gas Burner for Studying Ignition and Extinction of Condensed-Phase Fuels. The work aims to offer a simple and accurate way to emulate ignition and extinction conditions for solids, compared to standard methods. The study was performed together with the University of Maryland. Peter Sunderland, James Quintiere, Patrick van Hees and John de Ris are co-authors in this conference paper.
