In the recently held conference titled, ‘Applications of Structural Fire Engineering’ held in Dubrovnik, Croatia (15-16th Oct 15), several researchers, academics, architects, and many practicing professionals shared current state of research & development and applications of advanced performance based design for different materials. The spectrum of main research themes covered fire modeling, heat transfer to structural elements of different materials such as steel, concrete, and composites, polymers and coatings. Other sessions included fire and smoke development and material behavior in fire.
Abhishek presented his paper titled, ‘Pyrolysis modeling of PVC using distributed activation energy model’. The aim of the study was to review the performance of a sub-model whose results could be further used in the prediction of cone calorimeter tests.
